This weeks vegetable share includes bunched carrots or bulk beets, scallions, cucumbers, pickles, zucchini or summer squash, and sweet corn from Abers.
The fruit share includes peaches, nectarines and plums all from Singer.
The dry weather late last week gave us the opportunity to plant thousands of transplants and seed the big fall planting of greens and brassica roots. We are on schedule with our plantings so the future looks bright. We do have an issue with our tomatoes which is that they failed to set fruit. They are loaded with flowers now and small fruit but nothing is approaching ripeness. As long as disease stays away we should still have a decent harvest. The eggplant is also light on the fruit. We did have a week of night time temperatures in the high 40’s which might have affected fruit set.
