The sun is out and the weather is beautiful on the farm. It is hard to believe that snow covered the ground on the weekend. It looks like we have ten great days to bring in the harvest. We are digging carrots now and have started on the turnips and radishes.

This weeks vegetable share includes peppers, greens, cabbage, butternut or acorn squash, carrots and leeks. The substitutions are tomatillos and hot peppers.

The fruit share includes apples from Bittner Singer Farm and pears from Blackman Orchard. The feature fruit is the seckel pear. We have been trying for years to get this fruit in the share. They are small, beautiful and have a wonderful taste and texture when they are ripe. Let us know what you think. We also have bosc pears and quince from last week.

Enjoy!
