The crew has been busy harvesting. It is time to bring in the crops before the weather becomes cold and snow arrives. We are still frost free. Usually we have our first frost mid-October. The weather has been so beautiful that it is difficult to think about snow and cold.

The vegetable share for the week includes a choice of leeks or scallions, spinach, spaghetti squash, greens, lettuce, radish or japanese turnip and purple kohlrabi or carmen red peppers or green bell peppers or eggplant. The substitution is hot peppers or tomatillos.

The fruit share is four pounds of apples or plums from Singer Farm. There are also cortlands from Tom Tower Farm. The fruit share also includes two pounds of pears. The bosc pears are from Singer and the Asian pears are from New Royal Orchard.

Enjoy!
