The vegetable share this week and for the rest of the season is being distributed in a different style. It is what we do for the Winter Share. For each size share we give you the number of greens and the pounds of roots to take based on your share size. We will also have a weekly feature. This week it is Acorn squash.
The greens include various kales, collards, chard, bok choi, dill, parsley, lettuce, arugula, tat soi, mizuna, mustard and vitamin greens.
The roots include daikon, radish, carrots, beets, kohlrabi, japanese turnips and potatoes.
Please let us know how you like this style of distribution. We will pack much more than we need in the hope that nothing runs out. If something does run out we will bring more the following week.
We have decided to certify the vegetables USDA Organic. Nobody knew what Certified Naturally Grown was and the word natural itself has been corrupted. We should be certified organic for the 2015/16 season.
The fruit share includes seven pounds of apples, pears and quince.
