You can also just roast the fruit without the additional butter and sugar.

Plums (or peaches or nectarines)

1. Preheat oven to 400ºF.

2. Butter a baking dish (size up to you, depending on how much fruit you are roasting).

3. Cut washed fruit in half and pit. Place, snugly, cut side up, in baking dish. Put some more butter in each cavity, if you like, and then sprinkle sugar in and over all.

4. Bake for about 20 to 30 minutes, depending on size and ripeness of fruit. Cool before serving.
