Try to use fresh ginger for this dish.

8 ounces green beans, trimmed
2 T soy sauce
2 t miso paste
1/4 – 1/2 t red pepper flakes
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 t grated fresh ginger root, or 1/4 t ground dry ginger
1 T sesame seeds, toasted

1. Steam beans for 5 minutes. Remove from the heat and transfer beans to a serving bowl.

2. Meanwhile, in a small bowl, stir together the soy sauce, miso paste, red pepper flakes, garlic, and ginger. Pour over the green beans and toss to coat. Sprinkle sesame seeds on top. Serve warm or at room temperature.
