This is a variation of a Provencal sandwich, Pan Bagna, or “bathed bread”. I often make extra salad just for this.
leftover, dressed salad greens
extra vinaigrette, if desired, or olive oil and vinegar
salt and pepper, to taste, optional
1. Slice baguette down the middle. Place leftover, dressed lettuces on one half. Sprinkle with salt and pepper, if desired. Top with cheese slices. Put other half over this*. Cut into serving portions. Enjoy!!!
*You can drizzle extra vinaigrette, or simply olive oil and vinegar, on the other half before finishing the sandwich, if you really want to “bathe” the bread.
