Slightly underripe pears work best here–they hold their shape during cooking.

2 pears, (peeled), halved, and cored
1/2 c shredded coconut
2 T brown sugar (packed)
1/2 t ground cinnamon or allspice or cardamom…

1. Preheat oven to 350ºF.

2. Place pears cut-side up in a baking dish. Combine coconut, brown sugar and cinnamon. Place 2 tablespoons of filling in each pear half. Bake until tender and bubbly, about 30 minutes.
