Yums!!  You can make these bars thin or thick. If you want a thicker bar, bake them in a 13- x 9- x 2-inch baking pan and increase the baking time.

3 c regular oats
3/4 c whole grain flour
1 c chopped walnuts, pecans, or almonds
1 c chopped dates or other (unsweetened) dried fruit
1 c maple syurp
3 eggs, lightly beaten
1 c applesauce
1/2 c nut butter

1. Preheat oven to 350ºF. Grease a cookie sheet, or line with parchment paper.

2. Combine oats, flour, walnuts, and dates in a medium-sized bowl. Combine maple syrup, eggs, applesauce, and nut butter in a larger bowl and mix and stir until smooth and nut butter is incorporated. Add dry ingredients to wet and mix well.

3. Press into the prepared baking pan–just about an inch thick. Bake for about 30 minutes, until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool, then cut into bars or squares.
