Distribution from Jan.-March
When the share starts in January, you will be receiving roots, apples and other storage crops. We will continue providing local apples. Fermented vegetables will also be available.
The roots include carrots, potatoes, onions, beets, celeriac, turnips, and winter radish. Storage crops include; apples, cabbage, leeks, and winter squash. Lactic acid fermented Sauerkraut and sometimes kimchi (if we have enough crop to make it) is also part of the winter share and makes it’s way into the share in January. All the vegetables in our Winter share are certified organic.
The share runs until late March. This hearty fare is the perfect food for making stews, soups and sauces fortifying us for our NY winter season!
