JUST-PICKED FLORIDA FRUIT
SHIPPED DIRECTLY FROM THE ORCHARD TO BUFFALO
We are very excited about offering just picked Florida citrus this winter. There
is no storage warehouse at the orchard. We call the order in, and they pick the
ripe fruit. A few days later it’s yours!
Deb and I spent a winter in Key West years ago. The highlight of the trip was
our weekly trips to the farmers market. We would bring home just picked, sun
ripened oranges and grapefruit. It was like eating candy, they were so sweet. We
had to eat the oranges over the sink because they were so juicy! Ever since that
time we have wanted to offer a citrus fruit share.
The price of citrus can vary by 100% one week to the next. Because of this
volatility we cannot guarantee the quantity of fruit you will receive on a
weekly basis. Specialty oranges cost double of what the grapefruit and standard
oranges cost. If the citrus supply is generous then we can offer more specialty
oranges to average out the weekly share. The quantities you choose are not
guaranteed due to the nature of a shared distribution experience.
The citrus share is an extension of our goal of providing our shareholders with
fruit and vegetables of unsurpassed quality in terms of flavor, nutrition and
freshness.
