All the crops are growing great and we had a rare morning today with a wake-up temperature of 50 degrees. Most of the Barn Swallows have seemed to have left. I learned they can fly up to 600 miles a day and their journey ends in Southern Mexico and Central America.
Today another big greens planting is going in and fields will be covered cropped with oats.
The vegetable share for the week includes Summer Squash or the last of the Cucumbers, Tomatoes, Peppers, Scallions or Onions (the red onions have some sun damage that can be cut off), Herbs, Greens and White Turnips or Beets.
The fruit share for Orchard Park and Amherst includes Peaches, Nectarines and Plums. The fruit share for the farm and Buffalo is Peaches and Raspberries. OP and Amherst will get Raspberries another week.
